Sometimes web browsers act up and hesitate to do what you want them to do. This can involve accessing audio and video sources. Try following the next steps to see if they can solve the problem:

  1. Is your device physically connected to your computer?
  2. Does the device work in other applications (eg. Skype)?
  3. Close all other applications that have access to your device (Skype, other web browsers like Internet Explorer,...)
  4. Make sure your device is not blocked by the browser.
  5. Try restarting your browser.
  6. Still doesn’t work? Try rebooting your computer and reopening Vectera.
  7. If all of the above fails, it's a good idea to check your computer webcam/microphone settings. We can't help you with that, but try searching the web for something like "Windows 10 microphone doesn't work". If nothing helps, there could be a problem with your hardware. Using another computer and/or device just might do the trick. If you have any questions about choosing a good device or computer, shoot us an e-mail at help@vectera.com!

This problem can occur with files with a .doc extension (a previous version of current Word-files with a .docx extension). You can solve this problem by converting the .doc file to a PDF on your computer, and then uploading the PDF to Vectera. The file should now be correctly displayed!

You can record conversations up to 1 hour. At exactly 59 minutes and 59 seconds, the recording will stop. This is set up to not overload your browser.

After the recording is stopped, you can of course launch a new recording of your conversation!

A recording of 1 hour will usually take up to 350MB of storage. With the included 2GB of cloud storage, this means you can upload about 5 hours of recordings.

When you record a conversation, the recording is temporarily stored in your browser. When you stop the recording, it remains stored in your browser.

You can then choose to download the recording to your computer, or to upload the recording to the Vectera Cloud. All participants to the meeting room have access to the recordings in the Vectera Cloud, so that's easy sharing!

Recordings that are temporarily stored in your browser can be deleted by your browser at any time, so it's important to upload you recordings to the Vectera Cloud when they're ready!

Known issue
When sharing an Office 365-app (eg. Word or Excel) through Screen Share, any changes happening in the Office 365-app are not visible to other users when you're sharing the application itself. This is a known issue caused by Office 365, which we unfortunately can't solve.

Solution
Changes in the 365-app are visible when you share your whole screen. We advise to use a second monitor and share the second monitor's screen, while keeping Vectera opened on your first monitor. You can then easily share all Office 365-apps on the second screen.
